• Don't miss a "bamboo" boat ride to Yangshuo through one of China's most incredible landscapes. Take a bus or a taxi (about US$25) to the nearby village of Yangdi. Negotiate for a private boat (about US$40 for two people) for a 90 minute ride to the charming village of Xingping. After exploring the ancient streets and shops, catch a local bus to Yangshuo (about 40 minutes ride) and spend the afternoon wandering around this bustling town before catching a bus back to Guilin (about 90 minutes).

  Near the Guilin Bravo Hotel along one of the lovely lakes that snake through the center of the city. Absolutely wild. The bar has about thirty tables, including some in a loft, as well as a small stage. Guests are mostly women, but there are a few men. The place plays upbeat Chinese and western pop music and they have shows that involve audience participation. The crowd and staff are very friendly.
