HONGKONG - Dec 22, 2002 The first issue of Dim Sum, a new gay and lesbian scene zine, has been launched in Hong Kong. Published by Plus Design Consultants, the magazine is slated to come out bi-monthly and is distributed free at local clubs and restaurants. The first issue is pocket-sized, full color, and filled with useful and entertaining info: an interview with the webmaster of gayhk.com, music and film reviews, travel feature on Boracay, fashion and food reviews, Pilates work-out, and a saucy advice column called "Sausage Love". Publisher, Joe Lam, says "I felt that it is a shame that here in Hong Kong we have only porn magazines, despite the fact that Hong Kong gays and lesbians are, as a whole, sophisticated and interesting people. I want to write about things that are of interest to the gay community--such as visual arts, music and, of course, fashion and gossip." |
