"I checked out Rich-e club last Sat. Actually, this English name is a very poor, shortened rendition of the Chinese which means 'Coming Out Of The Closet.' Sure enough this club has some of the hallmarks of a genuine gay club. I think Rich-e is much more satisfying in this respect than Velvet which is a mixed, fashionable club with plenty of straight people and not 100% gay. I found the crowd at Rich-e to be less chic, but far more friendly. There was a nice mix of ages and social backgrounds to give a democratic feel, and an absolutely incredible floor show towards 1am, with two very well built male dancers who did acrobatic dancing. Erotic! But definitely creative and tasteful. It could be worth going just to check these guys out! "Checked out Velvet tonight. Very smoky place, well crowded. I think most guys come when other places close, so no need to go there early. After 3am they turn down the music and people start leaving. Y$50 per cocktail and they are generous on alcohol. The music is really good. But beware of several things: 1) some bartenders are not very honest, so double check the price; 2) very rude and incompetent security guys; 3) pick-pockets." -- davidhunghk, Nov 15, 2009

"A Chinese friend introduce to me this very very local gay disco/KTV called DangDang bar, 8139-1221, 8139-3879, 139-2957-4760. You won't see many foreigners there, but there are plenty of shows. It is on 2/F in a famous pedestrian street, Shifu Lu and it is very close to Holiday Inn." -- suehiro, Aug 11, 2009
